As I have been watching video’s on weather.com and hearing the stories of the experiences of those affected by Hurricane Helene, my heart begins to race and ache, and I am thrown back to June 2008. Our little family had moved to Manhattan, KS just 9 months earlier from Lincoln, NE. My husband had completed his first year of his Doctoral course work for the Marriage and Family Therapy Program at Kansas State University. We had two little children, a toddler and baby. We had heard of tornados and been warned of the possibility and how to prepare, but actually being in the path… nothing can prepare you for that.…

Radiant Inside and Out
Life is so fragile. My heart is full. My eyes are wet with tears. A beautiful woman I met in Minneapolis, MN, in May 2024, has completed her mortal journey much too soon due to stage 4 breast cancer. Carrie Grimmer was full of life and light! I met her at a family retreat hosted by the Inheritance of Hope non-profit group in May of 2024. She was so much fun to be around, easy to connect with, and I instantly felt like we had been friends forever. Her laugh and smile were infectious, and she was absolutely radiant inside and out. She was a loving wife and attentive mother. …

Introducing Amelia Heir Art
I am delighted to announce the beginning of a regular Newsletter for the Amelia Heir-Art Design Studio. In this first issue I will introduce myself.
